From what testing has shown, the legendary screen-garbage/search bug is not caused by the inherent searching structures and functions, which leads me to believe that it's somewhere else. Probably the fault of Microsoft. Anyway, here's 1.0.6d, which has all of the functionality (that I took away) back in.
* JLookUp 1.0.6d (bare). ('bare' means that you'll need a previous version to copy it over top of.)

If you're experiencing any problems (ie, crashes) in JLookUp--especially when searching--try out the console build. Yes, it is a console application, and it is supremely plain. It's just there to test if the the dictionary and search stuff works properly.

Okay guys, I'm sorry for not updating earlier.

Basically, here's how things are:
1) JLookUp has some serious crashes on some machines.
2) The problem is that it does so on none of mine.
3) So, all of these 1.0.6c's have been attempts to fix the problems really fast.
4) They haven't helped (but they did add some nice stuff ^_^).
5) I'll get some free time on the weekend (probably starting Friday), so expect some stuff then.

So, what's coming in a day or two will be:
* The final 1.0.6c (probably called 1.0.6d).
* A console version (to rule out some problems once and for all).

A lot random problems in 1.0.6 are fixed in 1.0.6c. Try that if you have any problems.

Here's the beta for 1.0.6c (it'll be 1.0.7 when it's finished):

New things:
* A Japanese IME (Just press CAPSLOCK).
* Better dictionary support.
* Faster copy & paste.

Okay, it looks like the J_PLACES dictionary had a tiny little error in it, but that's fixed now. You can get the updated one from the Dictionaries section.

Also, the Dictionaries section's links actually work now. That was a series of incorrect URLs on my part.

I'm trying to get 1.0.7 out as fast as possible, but we keep finding new flaws and new things to be added.

Speaking of 1.0.7, here's a link to whatever the inbetween version is at the time:

For all of you Windows 98 and ME users out there, I finally fixed that little bug where it wouldn't let you resize or remove the header bars on the Result and Kanji windows.

You can get the update from the internal updater, or you can download the whole thing all over again.

Okay, here's how things are going to go down:
1) I'm just about out of '(FAST Mirror)' space.
2) I'm going to stop using .zip files and pump out self-installing .exe's.
3) All tiny updates will now be conducted through the Update Window of JLookUp, so I won't bother to post them here anymore.
4) The newest versions will always be fully equipped and downloadable ('standard').


I must say, I never really expected this project to get this big. Well, everyone, thanks a lot!

Well, forget about 1.0.6a and go straight to 1.0.6b! 'b' fixes up the updater for future use. It'll be really important soon.
