News for December 2004

Once again, we have another test version.

Sometime soon I'll actually do the work and make a real release, with up-to-date documentation... but that's for later!

The new one has a crazy feature: the fuzzy search. Check out the test area page for more information ^_^

Hello everyone! I managed to change enough code today that the version-number-change warrented more than just a new letter. So, now we're up to 1.0.7.5. By the time this month is over, I figure we'll be at 1.1.0.0, but that's for later. For now, you can get 1.0.7.5 from the test area.

It actually probably belongs as a full version, but I've been working on it all day, and I'm just tired. So, I may move it; I may not. See the changelog for details on what's changed.

For all of you test-version people out there, get this. I messed up the English searching a version or two ago, and now it's fixed. Sorry about that.

For all of you non-test-version people, the test version is actually more stable (and better) than the normal version. I've just been too busy and lazy (it depends on the day) to release a new version. I want to wait until I get all of the new features that I want to add finished first... and then we'll have a nice, new, non-test version.

Okay, we have another test version.

If you've been having any problems with the other ones, try this one out. There was a problem where it wouldn't properly ignore missing dictionaries in English searches. I purposely send out an Options.jlreg with extra EDICTs in there just for such an occation. Thanks, Paul, for helping to find that problem.

Not much--another new test version.

It adds a couple of new things in terms of functionality, the debug stuff is now configurable via 'debug_level.dat' (0 is off, 1 is debug). I'm trying to pin down some problems, so let me know if you have any issues with it.

Free time at last! A certain Truong Hoang Nguyen notified me of a pretty significant memory problem that I had, so that's fixed now. If you had any errors or anything with JLookUp, I blame it on that error. Try out the new test version and let me know how it works.

Sorry about the lack of updates (again); I should be officially un-busy in a couple of days.

Anyway, to start off December, I put up a new version of 1.0.7.3 (this one is 'd'). I added a couple of small things, fixed a few smaller things, and some other stuff, but it's still worth getting. You can get it from the Test Area.

After writing the built-in IME, I really cluttered up the code for searching. So, one of my next projects (after multiple-entry selection) is going to be to clean that sucker out, add new toolbar buttons, et cetera.
