JLookUp Documentation
Version 1.0.6a
Hi, everyone! This is the HTML documentation for JLookUp. New items are written like this.
This (the HTML help files) have totally replaced the old README.TXT file that used to be the help file. If it's not in here, then chances are that I haven't written any documentation on it. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
HUGELY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- To search for an English word, type this 'EN:' (without the quotes) followed by the English word. For example, 'EN:happy' will find all entries that have 'happy' in the meanings.
- If you want to search for exactly the English text search for it like this: 'EN:"happy days"'. You can use quotes in non-exact searches, just make sure that there's a space between the colon and the quotes.
- If, for some reason, your computer is messed up and crashes on the Choose Font parts of the Options screen, just change it in 'Options.jlreg'.
- If the header bars do NOT drag and resize properly, don't play with them, okay? For some reason, my 98 machine won't do them correctly.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO READ IF GOING FROM 1.0.* TO 1.0.6
- 'Options.jlreg' has had a few things added and taken away.
- Watch out for the 'classical' dictionary. I keep finding errors in it. Make sure that yours is the newest I have.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO READ IF GOING FROM 1.0.3 TO 1.0.4
- 'Options.jlreg' has had a few things added and one taken away.
- Searches and dictionary-loads can now be cancelled by pressing Escape.
- Watch out for the 'classical' and 'lawgledt' dictionaries; they are bugged! Either get an fixed version or use at your own risk.
